Doneraile Park in County Cork is one of Ireland’s best kept secrets.
Boasting 166 hectares of land, with a beautifully restored old house, an 18th century landscaped park, the Awbeg river, deer, forest pathways and mature groves of deciduous trees, this is truly one of North Cork’s hidden gems.
Today I have five Doneraile Park 2020 calendars to give away to readers. Featuring lovely scenes of the 18th century home and surrounding park, this is a perfect way to celebrate Ireland throughout the year.
Photography By Maureen O’Hanlon:
The calendar was created by Maureen O’Hanlon from Doneraile.
Maureen walks in Doneraile Park every day and thankfully she brings her camera along, to capture the wonderful nature all around.
From deer to swans, pet robins to little red squirrels, glorious blooms and spectacular hedgerows, Maureen captures all the amazing sights to be seen in Doneraile Park.
Make Time For Nature is a Facebook Page run by Maureen where she shares her amazing photos with all her fans.
And believe me, Maureen has an eye for the beauty of nature. Her photos are simply lovely.
She must also have an aura of peacefulness about her, because a little pet robin just loves to perch on her hand.
In years gone by, we enjoyed Maureen’s photos of Doneraile Park in snow.
That post also features a little background history about the St. Ledger family, who once owned Doneraile Court and Estate.
Doneraile Park Calendars:
Maureen created beautiful calendars featuring Doneraile Park especially for 2020.
A different photo highlights each month, showcasing the park in the glory of Ireland’s changing seasons.
I hope you like the samples Maureen sent along to highlight her work.
Doneraile Wildlife Park is one of Ireland’s most popular ‘free to enter’ attractions and nearly 500,000 visitors take a stroll in this lovely setting each and every year.
Regarded as a local treasure in North Cork, Doneraile Park is not widely known as a potential location to visit by many tourists to Ireland.
But Maureen is helping to spread the word about her hometown. Doneraile is a lovely, unspoiled village that gives visitors a glimpse of how Ireland was in years gone by.
Maureen has graciously offered five calendars for Irish American Mom readers to win.
