Guinness is an amazing ingredient for baking and cooking.  This Chocolate Guinness Cake is topped with a white chocolate and cream cheese frosting.

– 10 ounces butter – ½ cup cocoa powder – ¾ cups Guinness stout – 3 teaspoons vanilla extract – 2 teaspoons honey – ¾ cups white sugar – ¾ cups light brown sugar – 2½ cups cake flour – ½ teaspoon baking soda – 2 teaspoons baking powder – 1 pinch salt – 3 large eggs – ¾ cups sour cream

– 1 cup white chocolate chips – 4 ounces butter at room temperature – 8 ounces cream cheese – 1½ cups powdered sugar sifted – 2 tablespoons heavy whipping cream

Melt the butter in a saucepan. Whisk in the cocoa powder and Guinness.  Add the vanilla extract and honey and whisk again. Remove from the heat and set aside.

Dry Ingredients

Sift the dry ingredients together.
