Paper Witch Bookmarks - A Fun Halloween Craft for Kids
Create a little Halloween magic with these fun paper witch bookmarks featuring striped witch legs, a pointy hat, and a broomstick. Use the printable template and colorful craft paper to make a whimsical set of bookmarks perfect for marking your place in a favorite spooky story.
Choose your preferred colors of craft paper or cardstock. Trace the template pieces onto the corresponding papers and carefully cut them out with scissors. The template includes three bookmark designs: witch’s legs, a witch’s hat, and a broomstick. Begin with the witch’s legs bookmark.
Glue the yellow U-shaped buckle pieces onto the upper center of each black shoe. Position the buckles so the open ends of the U shapes face inward.
Cut several thin strips from your chosen colored craft papers. Glue the strips across the white stocking pieces to create a colorful striped pattern.
Trim away any excess paper from the sides of the stockings so the strips follow the stocking outlines. Glue a black witch’s shoe to the narrow end of each stocking.
Arrange the completed stockings side by side and glue their top ends onto the rectangular bookmark base.
Glue the second rectangular base piece over the first, sandwiching the tops of the stockings between the two layers. This conceals the overlapping pieces and gives the bookmark a neat, sturdy finish.
Follow the same tracing, cutting, and gluing process to create the witch’s hat and broomstick bookmarks. Attach the completed witch’s hat to a strip of cardstock to create the bookmark base.
