A Cup of Tea and a Scone
A cuppa tea and a scone has been enjoyed by the Irish for decades and centuries.
Afternoon tea was enjoyed by ladies who sipped tea from china mugs. Often petite scones were served on delicately painted plates to accompany pots of black tea.
In humble Irish cottages scones were lovingly made and cooked in bastibles over the open fire. When times were good, there was tea to go along with warm scones with melting butter.
