During the summer months Ireland is a land of festivals, celebrations and events. From food festivals to music events, family festivals to active group adventures, Ireland is always a great place to be over the summer.

Festivals in Ireland
I love festivals - I think this affinity for celebrations is an innate part of my Irish being and Irish psyche. I even include festivals in my listing of Top Ten Reasons Why Tourists Love Ireland.

Some may think festivals are tourist traps, but I believe there is far more to a good festival, where the uniqueness of the Irish character can be discovered. Irish festival goers possess a love of stories, talk and music, and above all, a fondness for fun.
The Best Events in Ireland
Today I'm delighted to share an infographic from the good folks at Killarney Hotels, who have taken a lot of trouble to round up a collection of wonderful events scheduled to take place in Ireland this summer.

And so, if you plan to visit Ireland this year, I hope you'll find a festival to enjoy somewhere along your way.

Oh my gosh...
Riverdance 20? Has it really been around that long?
That is my first choice if I had to choose!
Irish American Mom
Hi Patricia - It really is hard to believe Riverdance first blew us all away 20 years ago - it would be my first choice too out of all these events.
All the best,
Mairéad

Maybe it's time to reserve yourself a spot in Ennis for the 2016 All Ireland Fleadh. I'm hoping to make it over with daughter #1 maybe #3 who knows #2 might even want to come over. Mairead it's an event that's worth the effort.
Cheers,
Brian.
Irish American Mom
Hi Brian - I hope all your girls will make the trip to Clare with you in 2016. I too would love to go, but you know, it's a long, long way from Clare to here.
All the best,
Mairéad

I think I would like the music festivals the best. Too bad I won't be there. Darn! 🙂

Someday Cheryl - I hope you make it to see Ireland. So many places, so much to do, but in the meantime, enjoy your beautiful grandchildren. Being with them is the most important thing in the world right now.
Best wishes,
Mairéad
