A logo is a key branding tool for all businesses, and today I'm so excited.
I have some great news. I have a brand new, never-before-seen logo for Irish American Mom.
I couldn't wait to share it with everyone, right here on my blog.
And so today is the day....
for my big reveal .....
drum roll .....
And here it is .......
My very own Irish American Mom logo ....
Reasons For Designing a New Logo
And so you might ask, why on God's good earth does Irish American Mom need a logo?
Well, to tell you the truth I had no idea I should even have one, until one day another website owner asked me if she could use my logo to create a link back to my website.
I was thrilled at the prospect of someone linking to my website. The only problem was that I actually didn't have a logo.
So I had to put my thinking cap on ......
What would be a good logo for Irish American Mom ?????
The Meaning of Four Interlocking Loops In Irish American Mom's Logo
And so I decided on four interlocking loops, colored in green and orange for Ireland, and red and blue for America - to represent my Irish roots and American dreams which will always be interwoven together.
I chose an old Celtic style script for the title and tag line. I hope you like it as much as I do.
Not only will I be able to use my logo on business cards, letterhead and all that official kind of stuff, I'll also incorporate it into collages for my stories.
I suppose this logo will put a unique stamp on images and graphics for my website.
But most importantly I'll be able to send it to other sites who wish to use my logo to connect.
And so whenever you see those new Irish American colored hoops, you'll know the logic behind them.
Now I just have to figure out how to size this logo correctly for my header image ..... oh this technical stuff will be the death of me yet ......
Thanks for stopping by, and indulging me in this little moment of excitement today.

It looks lovely! Very professional! I like the use of the colors too!
Irish American Mom
Thanks Patricia. I wasn't sure if the orange would clash with the red, but I think it came out just fine.

This is exciting stuff, IAM. And aren't you the creative, artistic one: a melding of The Old Sod with Land of Bluegrass? No doubt you drew the over and under weavings of the Celtic rings, too? Symbolism is much in the news these days. It's heartwarming to see something positive in that arena! Congratulations, Mairead. Eat your heart out, Huffington Post. TMJ
Irish American Mom
Hi T.M. - Unfortunately I couldn't draw a straight line with a ruler, so I had to get some help with this little project. I'm thrilled with the end result. Thanks for checking it out.

Yes! A cookbook would be a great thing! I would love that!

Thanks Maureen and Patricia. An e-cookbook is in the works. Just working out some technical issues - I'm struggling with picture sizes and file sizes, fonts and all that good stuff, but it's on the way. I'm so glad you think my recipes are worthy of their very own cookbook. Thanks so much for all your support.
Have a lovely weekend, ladies.

Mairéad,
Love your logo and what it represents. Excited to hear about the e-cookbook! 🙂
Irish American Mom
Thanks, Janine. Once I work through some technical details with image sizes and file sizes, and all that good stuff I only half understand, I'll have an e-cookbook available for download. I also need to find the time ... once my kids are back at school I'll hopefully make more progress.
