Easy To Make Patriotic Charcuterie Board
Simple all the way for this impressive appetizer. It's made using slices of Swiss cheese, pepperoni and blueberries.
Charcuterie boards are extremely popular these days. A serving board is used to present elegant and simple food in an eye appealing manner.
Technically this patriotic collection of edibles can be classified as a charcuterie board.

You can call it a cheese board, a cheese tray, an appetizer tray or go by our new elegant term charcuterie board.
Whatever name you choose, this appetizer tray is a perfect way to serve family and friends at your 4th of July celebrations.

Ingredients for a Patriotic Cheese Board
Here's all you need to impress your friends with this elegant appetizer.
- fresh blueberries
- sliced Swiss cheese
- slices of pepperoni
You can use any sliced white cheese you like. This appetizer tray features Swiss cheese, but a good, hearty, white, Irish cheddar cheese woud also work well.
You can use salami, or any other sliced meat that's colored red. This board features easy to find, and inexpensive pepperoni.
Directions for Patriotic American Flag Cheese Board
Assembling this impressive appetizer is very easy. Stars and stripes are all that we need.
Create Stars with Blueberries and Cheese
First of all wash the blueberries, and remove any stalks or leaves that might have been missed.
Dry or drain the blue berries before adding them to your tray.
I like to use a small square bowl to hold the blueberries. It's too difficult to move the board if they are simply piled in the corner. They tend to roll all over the place.
Place the bowl of blueberries on the top left corner of a rectangular cutting board.

Next, let's make some cheese stars to place on top of the blueberries.
Take one slice of cheese and use a star shaped cookie cutter to create cheese stars.
You can make two medium stars, or you can use a small star cookie cutter to make as many stars as you wish.
Place the cheese stars decoratively over the blueberries in the bowl.
Making Stripes with Pepperoni and Cheese Slices
Take the remaining slices of cheese and cut each one into four squares.
Now it is time to create your American flag edible art.

Lay a line of sliced pepperoni on the cutting board to the right side of the bowl of blueberries.
Place a row of white cheese squares below the row of red pepperoni. Repeat the rows of pepperoni and cheese.
In our featured version of this cheese board I created five rows in total. Two cheese rows and three pepperoni rows.
If you make this appetizer in advance, store it in the fridge until you are ready to serve. It's best to cover it with plastic wrap to prevent moisture accumulating on the cheese and meat layers.
And that's all there is to it.
