I'm delighted to host a giveaway for an Irish Family Tree planting for one lucky reader to win.
To help generate interest in Ireland's trees, www.irishtrees.ie are offering all our Irish American Mom readers the chance to win an 'Irish Family Tree' every month.
Do you believe it is important to renew Ireland's forests?
Are you commited to increasing the number of trees on our planet?
Do Irish oak trees capture your heart?
If you answered yes to any or all of these questions, then this week's giveaway is for you.
One lucky reader will win a commemorative tree planting in Ireland. A native Irish oak tree will be planted in your honor and you will receive a beautiful certificate to mark the occasion.
Planting Irish Trees
This month we explored the fascinating history of ancient Irish trees, and each month we'll take a closer look at the history and significance of trees in Irish culture and heritage.
The Prize - An Oak Tree Planted in Your Honor
Closing date for this month's draw is Saturday October 2nd, 2021 at 12 noon Eastern Time.
The trees are underplanted with native Irish spring bulbs and surrounded by millions of native Irish wildflowers and pollinated by native Irish honey bee colonies.
This creates a self-sufficient natural habitat for animals, birds, and insects.
One reader will win an honorary planting and dedication of an Irish Oak Tree on a lakeside in The Naul, County Dublin.
An Oak can live for 400-600 years, cleaning the air, protecting wildlife, and is a gift that will keep on giving for generations to come - forever rooted in Ireland in your family name.
You will have the option to personalize a framable high-quality Planting Certificate.
If you don't choose the tree for yourself, you can have it dedicated to another person or family, and it will be posted to them along with a Handmade Wildflower seeded card (plantable) with a handwritten message from you to accompany the Certificate.

The planting of an oak tree in Ireland is a lovely gift to celebrate any occasion because the world is loosing so many of it’s trees by fires or destruction of trees by deforestation. We need trees in order to live! People don’t realize that. Oak trees are long lived, if not destroyed by deforestation.
I support 8billiontrees because “8 Billion Trees is a carbon offset company that runs large-scale planting operations in the Amazon Rainforest.” This helps heal the Amazon Rainforest, save endangered wildlife and reverse climate change.

The honor of planting an oak tree in Ireland will be the perfect compliment to a park bench my parents installed at an Irish Abbey in honor of my sister, Kathleen. She was our family’s oak as she battled cancer at the age of 25. She didn’t survive. Thank you for the opportunity to join the giveaway. Sincerely, Kelly

Thank you. Angela was the last of her generation (of my my mother and aunts and uncles) to finally get to see Ireland - she went with her daughters and granddaughters - and loved being "back home." If this is the tree planting that is recently highlighted in Irish Central it sounds quite amazing - and I hope that my family will get around to planting many trees there (for living too)!

Hi Yasemin - I missed the tree planting on Irish Central, but it's lovely to hear they too are supporting this efforts in Ireland too. Lovely to know your grand aunt Angel got to visit Ireland. Best of luck in our tree planting giveaway.
