Let's explore some reasons why we love Independence Day so much. The fourth of July is America's birthday, and we all love to celebrate in style.
"You have to love a nation that celebrates its independence every July 4, not with a parade of guns, tanks, and soldiers who file by the White House in a show of strength and muscle, but with family picnics where kids throw Frisbees, the potato salad gets iffy, and the flies die from happiness. You may think you have overeaten, but it is patriotism."
~Erma Bombeck
This is one of my favorite patriotic quotations.
America celebrates its birthday, not by trying to impress the rest of the world with a show of force, but by focusing on family, friends, connection, and unity - the foundation of greatness for any nation.
And once again, I have found yet another reason why I love America.
Happy Birthday, America!

Hi Mairead, just back from Independence day celebration in Maine, hope your 4th of July was filled with fun joy and remembrance of the founding farthers, who's bravery, thought, and lives allow we citizens our liberties. Next time someone wants to give a little freedom up for comfort, it's nice to reflect on what many of the signers of the Declaration of Independence forfeited. Cheers,
Brian.
