Many of days I spent at my father's side listening to all of his stories. Stories of Brian Boru, Finn McCool, etc.. And these stories became part of me. And I would love to pass them on to my grandchildren. As a matter of fact I'm starting a journal to tell these stories in my own voice of warriors and giants,mystical and daring. I like to believe.
I think my favorite story is of Ollipeist,( I have a stuffed dragon name Ollie after this great dragon.) Ollie was feared by the people. After hearing St. Patrick was moving on to dragons Ollie got mad eat a piper but got a upset stomach. Than threw up the piper. St . Patrick banned Ollie and when he went into the lake he slammed his tail down and created what's known now as the Shannon Valley. Also Ollipeist was a very good friend of the fairies and mermaids.
But what I find do fascinating is that dragons like Ollie were seated at the side of the kings.
What a treasure these stories would be.
