Step-by-step Instructions
Here's a simple overview of the steps. Full details are included in the printable instruction sheet.

Step 1: Shape Your Pot
Fold the bottom edge of your paper plate up about one inch and crease it well. Cut along the fold to create the base of your pot.

Step 2: Paint the Pot
Paint the outside of the plate with black acrylic paint. Allow it to dry completely, then add a second coat if needed for a rich, even finish.

Step 3: Trace the Template
Using your printed template (see page 1 for shamrocks and legs, and page 2 for coins and gold pile), trace the shapes onto your cardstock:
- Black for pot legs and rim
- Greens for shamrocks
- Yellow tones for coins and gold

Step 4: Cut Out the Pieces
Carefully cut out all your traced shapes. Cutting just inside the pencil lines helps give a neat, polished look.

Step 5: Assemble the Pot
Glue the pot legs and rim onto your painted plate. A glue gun works best for a secure hold, but craft glue will work with a little patience.

Step 6: Add the Gold
Attach the large gold pile piece to the back top of the pot. Then glue on the yellow paper coins, layering different shades for a lovely textured look.

Step 7: Add Some Sparkle
Glue yellow pom poms around the gold pile for extra dimension and a bit of fluffy fun.

Step 8: Create the Shamrock
Layer the bright green shamrock on top of the medium green one, then glue it onto the pot.

Step 9: Finishing Touch
Tie a small bow using natural jute twine, attach it to a green button, and glue it to the center of your shamrock.
A Craft Full of Charm
This little project comes together in about 60 minutes, making it ideal for an afternoon activity or even a classroom craft. It's simple enough for younger children, but still engaging for older kids who enjoy adding their own creative touches.
You might even like to turn it into a storytelling moment, chatting about leprechauns, rainbows, and Irish folklore as you craft together.
