This is an easy and delicious Christmas strawberry recipe (or you could nearly call it an edible craft). Best news is that they're super easy to make and when they're all decorated and ready to go they taste great as well.
Chocolate strawberries are a gourmet and delicious dessert, that will really help you get into the holiday spirit.

Instructions For Chocolate Covered Strawberries
Here you’ll find step-by-step photographic instructions to help you recreate this recipe successfully. There are plenty of tips included along the way.
First you need to prepare the berries. Rinse the strawberries in a colander, then lay them out on paper towels to dry. If you're in a rush pat them dry with additional paper towels before starting.
Next it's time to melt the two types of chocolate.
Choose a heat proof or microwave safe bowl.
Add the milk chocolate to one glass microwave safe bowl, and the white chocolate chips to another bowl.
Microwave the chocolate chips for 60 seconds.
Use a spoon to stir the chocolate to see if it has started to melt. Remove the spoon before returning the bowl to the microwave for a further 30 seconds of melting. Stir again, and then melt in 30 sec increments, stirring after each time.
Add ½ teaspoon vegetable oil to help thin out the chocolate just a little.
Once your chocolate flows off the spoon you're ready to start dipping. Repeat with the white chocolate.
Dip the strawberries into the chocolate coating as much or as little as you’d like.
I prefer to nearly fully coat my strawberries, but others like a half coating.
I hold the starawberries by the green leaf or calyx (that's the official name for the stem and leaves). If you need to stabilize the berries when dipping them, stick a toothpick in the top from the side so that you can use two hands for this process.
Place the coated strawberries on a parchment lined baking sheet to begin to set.
Add sprinkles or mini chocolate chips for decoration while the chocolate is still wet.
To create the zig zag patterns dip the strawberries into the chocolate and place them on a parchment lined baking sheet, as above. This wax paper helps keep your cookie sheets clean, when you pipe the decorative chocolate.
Allow them to set about 10 mins
When you are finished dipping all of your berries, pour the remaining melted chocolate into a piping bag or sandwich baggie. If you're using a plastic bag, then cut it at the tip.
Holding the piping bag run your hands back and forth above the strawberries in zig zag patterns.
Immediately add sprinkles.
Allow the berries to fully set before serving.
Here are a few tips to help along the way.
Instead of using parchment paper on a baking tray you can place each chocolate dipped berry in a cupcake liner, helps the strawberries dry without messing up your presentation.
These strawberries can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge. They should be good for about 48 hours.
And there you have it! A simple festive berry recipe for Christmas. You can present them in a treat box for a special homemade Christmas gift.
Remember you can use any color sprinkles for these berries, for any other time of year.
Blue and red star sprinkles are great for Independence Day, and red and white sprinkles are wonderful for Saint Valentine's Day.
