Christmas Gifts From Ireland
As the Christmas season gets underway, MyIrelandBox is providing one November craft box and one December craft box to two lucky winners of our giveaway.
The wonderful world of Irish made crafts and the talented artists who devote their lives to the creative process are introduced to subscribers each month.
The MyIrelandBox team scour Ireland and thoughtfully curate the best of Irish crafts.
Here at Irish American Mom I love to support Irish and American artists, writers, and small businesses by helping spread the word about their incredible work.
MyIrelandBox shares that vision by introducing subscribers to new and unusual Irish crafts, they might otherwise not be able to buy.
Each box includes background information and personal stories about the Irish artists whose products are chosen for each monthly surprise.
This holiday season MyIrelandBox is offering a three month subscription for anyone hoping to surprise someone special for Christmas.
Orders can be placed right up until Christmas Eve, with the first gift boxes arriving in early January.
The Giveaway
One lucky winner will receive the November craft box and another will be surprised by the Christmas-themed December box.
To enter just leave a comment on this blog post by noon on Saturday, December 7th, 2013. Any comment will do but if you need inspiration why not tell us what Christmas crafts, trinkets or treasures you cherish most.
A winning comment will be chosen randomly. Remember to leave your e-mail so that I can contact you should you win. Your e-mail won’t be published or shared, just used to contact our two lucky contestants.
Winners will be announced on Saturday December 7th, so MyIrelandBox can get the winners' prizes on their way for Christmas.

Thank you for sharing My Ireland Box! I am definitely going to look into this for myself and family who share my love of Ireland.
My husband and I don't have children yet and we don't have many Christmas tokens. All of the Christmas treasures we had accumulated were taken in a flood we endured in 2005. We have kept our lives pretty bare-boned and minimal since. Last year we bought a fresh table-top tree and lit it up - loved that! I imagine we will accumulate things over time, especially after we have children. The most important Christmas treasure of mine is just keeping a priority the spirit and energy of the holiday.
Thanks a million,
Heidi

This is a great idea! My kids live to make ornaments for our tree....but it would be wonderful to incorporate irish crafts to honor their heritage.

Looks like the ideal thing for my grand daughter who is the "crafty" one in the family.

Thank you for letting us know about this awesome subscription. I was looking for something like this as a Christmas gift and this one is perfect. My favourite Christmas trinkets are homemade ornaments (made from bottle corks) dated with the year. Always nice when decorating the tree and seeing how far we have come. This year we will be adding an extra ornament for our first baby who arrived in June. I can now say that I too am an American Irish Mom 🙂
Irish American Mom
Karen - Congratulations on winning the December craft box from MyIrelandBox. I hope you have a lovely first Christmas with your new little angel.
Best wishes,
Mairead

I would choose scarves and caps of Irish wool or a vase from Kerry Crafted Glass. I love Connemara marble carvings and sculptures, as well. A hand-knit Aran Islands jumper or vest would never be turned away!

Beautiful!

This was on my mind this holiday season as we shopped at our local Irish Import store- everyone getting a gift from us this year, got a gift from Ireland. 🙂 Next year I will definitely have to remember this fun little box! I try not to have too many holiday trinkets... most of our decorations are either fresh (wreaths, trees, etc), from my childhood, or from when my husband and I were first married (advent, nativities...) Love this time of year!

On our trip to Ireland several years ago, we visited Galway Crystal's showroom. We bought a beautiful crystal Christmas Wreath that has a place of honor on our tree every year. Thank you for the giveaway, it sounds amazing.
Holly
My favorite ornament is always the shamrock, in honor of my Dad. 🙂
Irish American Mom
Holly - Congratulations on winning the November craft box, and thank you for your comment and support of this giveaway.
Best wishes,

Love, love discovering new Irish crafts. I am surely a fan of the crystal and woolens, but I have been inspired by all of the craft stalls I have encountered while in Ireland <3

I have been teaching elementary school for 32 years, and through the years, students have given me various ornaments which I have them sign (inconspicuously). As I trim the tree each year I remember my students. I have also been given several Belleek snowmen bells and I treasure those as well.

I really enjoy your site.
For me Christmas music and Christmas scents are critical to the holiday season.

When I was a child and it came time to decorate the family Christmas tree, I looked forward to unpacking my favorite ornament, a light yellow lemon-shaped globe withr rows of pink spots above and below two equator-ish light blue lines. The ornament was of the old-fashioned kind, most likely handblown in the late forties. It was always a joy to see it, as if meeting an old acquaintance after a year's absence. The globe was the first I hung on the tree, my task to do so. That ornament became the ghost of Christmas past, a victim of the years--and the hands of six children, perhaps. For years I've searched for a replacement but nothing came close.
When our daughter was born and we made Christmas for her, I'd reminisce about that lemon globe. One Christmas when my daughter was in elementary school, her class crafted homemade tree ornaments. Hers was a bumpy papier mache pear, slathered in several coats of garish yellow tempera paint. A twisted wire loop for a hanger protruded from an inch wide hole where the stem should have been. My daughter is thirty-four years old now and a mother. Her "little folk art" pear is the first ornament I hang on the tree... at eye level, in plain sight...for all to see. TMJ

My Ireland Box, what a great idea! Not only for myself, but for many friends who love all things Irish. This is the next best thing to actually buying local in Ireland! One of my favorites is Irish Pottery!

I will be putting up my tree today with my boys. They are ages 2, 4, and 6. In a couple of weeks, we will make sugar cookies and decorate them together.
Thank you for offering this giveaway 🙂
Laura
I love Christmas - and adore making my own things. Pressie & decor 🙂

As my husband and I get ready for the holidays I pull out my Christmas boxes of goodness and I am always surprised how much I love our nativity. Setting up all of the pieces reminds me so much of my childhood Christmases and the fun I had constantly rearranging the donkeys, wisemen and shepherds. I still have fun today and find myself passing by the table moving one piece or another until its just right.
I just love this giveaway and always enjoy reading your posts! Thanks for passing along a little joy this holiday season!

What a wonderful idea! I would love to win my own box. I just love crafts and DIY! Right now, I'm refinishing an antique box for my hair ties and bobby pins. Thank you for hosting this giveaway!

Perhaps in the future they will have a choice of female and male boxes. I'd luv to order one for hubby since he has Irish heritage, but earrings wouldn't go over well, LOL.

With a heritage of Irish ancestors I enjoy items that show that interest. At this time of year I am als=ways in search for Irish decor for the tree.

What a great giveaway. I love my Christmas ornaments especially and also love having poinsettias in the house. So colorful and pretty.
Mairead, I've got exciting news in my writing life -- I have an agent now! I posted about it earlier this week so you can see the details there when you get a chance. Just had to share with you. Know you'll be excited for me! 🙂
Irish American Mom
Dear Cheryl - I'm thrilled to hear you have found a writer's agent to help get your work published. What a wonderful Christmas surprise. Your many hours, days, months and years of dedication to the craft of writing are paying dividends now. Blessings to you as you continue your journey towards success.
All the best,
Mairéad

Mairead, I am so happy to have found your blog! I was doing some research on Irish gifts to get for my mom for Christmas and a box from MyIrelandBox seems like the perfect choice! Like you, my mother was from Ireland. She moved to America years ago after growing up in Galway. I love all things Irish and going to visit her homeland. I know she misses home often and I think a few authentic Irish tokens would make her so happy for Christmas.
As far as Christmas traditions, I love baking and spending the holiday with my family. We often have a game of cards like 25 after dinner.
Looking forward to your upcoming blog posts!
Bernie
Great Giveaway. Best Christmas Tradition is spending time with family.
Mariana
There's a bell we always put on the Christmas tree. When it sounds, it remainds me of my childhood.
Peggy Miller Hopes
The decorations I like best are the ones my boys made while they were in school along with the handmade Angels we received for our tree after our daughter passed away 23 years ago this month. Thank you for the opportunity.
